Roger Godfrin by memorial to teachers and schoolchildren

Roger Godfrin is standing in front of the memorial (in the school grounds in the Rue de Saint-Maur des Fossés) to the teachers and schoolchildren killed at Oradour-sur-Glane on the 10th June 1944. The inscription reads, "To the memory of the 7 School Masters and Mistresses and the 152 little pupils of Oradour-sur-Glane who were led in ranks by the Nazi troops from the schools to the church and massacred there on the 10th June 1944" The tablets list all the names of the teachers and children killed, including Roger's sisters Marie-Jeanne, 13 and Pierrette 11.
