The arrival of the presidents at Oradour for the 80th anniversary

The presidents of France and Germany arrived in a storm of noise and clouds of dust as they landed on the playing fields of Oradour-sur-Glane's sports stadium. One president per helicopter seemed to be the rule, presumably a decision driven by feelings of paranoia as much as political posturing. This shot shows the arrival of the German president Frank-Walter Steinmeier, landing after President Macron of France. The presidents were driven the one mile to the Centre de la Mémoire where their involvement in the act of remembrance / commemoration began.
