Madam Marguerite Rouffanche giving evidence at the 1953 trial of the 21 members of the Der Führer Regiment who were in French custody. She was frail, even 8 years after the massacre (she had been shot 5 times and spent nearly a year in hospital) and was still dressed in black. Of all the witnesses to the massacre at Oradour, she was perhaps the most compelling.
