Madam Rouffanche in tears

Madam Marguerite Rouffanche giving evidence at the 1953 trial of the 21 members of the Der Führer Regiment who were in French custody. She was frail, even 8 years after the massacre (she had been shot 5 times and spent nearly a year in hospital) and was still dressed in black. Of all the witnesses to the massacre at Oradour, she was perhaps the most compelling having suffered the loss of so many of her family.
