This photograph is included because it shows the 'dramatic' effect that Black and White photography can sometimes add to a scene. Oradour was the scene of a real drama in 1944 and I think that this view helps us to imagine the harshness of those events a little more easily. The Rue Emile Desourteaux is out of sight to the right of view.
