This postcard view of Oradour-sur-Glane was taken at the junction of the Rue Emile Desourteaux and the road to St. Junien (to the right of view). The Denis wine store, one of the sites of execution is located on the corner just to the right of view. Smoke damage to the ruins is quite obvious in this picture, but is much less visible today after 60 years of weather and restoration work. The card was posted on 10 August 1950 and so the original photograph must pre-date this.
