View from altar looking down the church in Oradour towards the entrance door, which is out of sight to the right under the tower. The remains of the bells can just be made out on the floor directly under the lower window. As can be seen the roof has entirely gone, but its outline where it keyed into the masonry is very obvious. See also by way of comparison the view inside St. Martin's church, Belchite in Spain, which was destroyed by fire caused by shell and bomb bursts.
