Salvador Dali type Melting Clock

Salvador Dali type 'Melting Clock'

This small clock (about 4 inches in diameter) is displayed in the crypt at Oradour-sur-Glane and it shows the effect of the fires which were burning around 4 o'clock in the afternoon of 10 June 1944. On display in the crypt are many artefacts which were recovered after the fires had burned out and amongst them are various timepieces, all of which show them being stopped around 16:00. If you are unfamiliar with the work of Dali, a search of the internet will throw up many examples of his surreal art, one repeated feature of which is, 'Melting Clock' faces.
