Sylvester Stadler as an Obersturmbannführer

In this view Stadler is shown wearing both his Knight's Cross with Oak Leaves and the collar tab of an Obersturmbannführer. This puts the date of the picture sometime between the award of the Oak Leaves in mid September 1943 and his leaving the Der Führer regiment on promotion in mid June 1944 (he became the commander of the 9th SS-Panzer Division Hohenstaufen).
