The Goods & Passenger Tram Station

Goods and passenger tram stations

The Tram Stations on the Rue Emile Desourteaux in Oradour-sur-Glane. The figure by the Goods Station building is 5ft 4ins tall and is there to give a sense of scale. The Goods Station is the only building in the village with an intact roof (I do not know how it escaped). One can again see that the separation between buildings and the width of the road makes the accidental spread of fire from building to building virtually impossible. One can see again in this view that the Passenger Station building must have been set on fire from within. All the buildings in Oradour are stone built and are of very substantial construction with non-combustible tile roofs.
