The Lorraine refugees school

The Lorraine refugees school

The figure in the distance is standing in front of the Lorraine refugees' school on the old road to Peyrilhac. As can be seen the building is set back a little way from the road. The building in the left foreground is the Infants school, Roger Godfrin escaped out of the rear of this building and was intending to make his way to the woods behind the cemetery when he was shot at and fell as though dead: see Village Plan. Just round the bend of the road on the right, it is barred by a wooden fence and after the fence it continues to the Masset Farm house area. Masset is Provencal for, "Little Farm", and it is where the SS command post was located on 10th June 1944.
